Roger Niland

ARTIST MEMBER

Roger is a Connecticut native now living in Unionville. He earned a BS in Art Education from Southern Connecticut State University and a Masters in Art & Literature from Wesleyan University. Roger has taught high school and adult students and conducted workshops for many years.

Perhaps better known for his landscapes done in acrylic, he has drawn from his graphic design experience and affinity with abstract art to create prize-winning digital works using simple apps. Roger is quick to disavow using any AI “interference”, however.

He has been awarded several prizes and exhibited in many juried shows throughout Connecticut, notably at The New Britain Museum of American Art, the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, and the Canton Artist Guild. He was previously Chairman of the Scholarship Committee for the Avon Arts Association and now serves as their Vise President.
